As I sit here writing, I can't help but be in awe of the wildflowers displayed in a jar on my table.  My husband picked them for me.  I am amazed at how beautiful and unique they are.  The flowers are God's special handiwork.....such detail....such beauty.  Yet, they are very temporary.  They sprout up quickly and bloom only for a short time.  I am reminded of Isaiah 40:5-8:

Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all flesh will see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.  A voice says, "Call out."  The he answered, "What shall I call out?"  All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.  The grass withers, the flower fades, when the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass.  The grass withers, the flower fades, but the WORD of GOD stands forever.

Life is short, friend.   This flesh is failing and aging.  However, the Spirit of the Lord is strong and eternal.   Spend your days investing eternally.   Don't run after things that will fade away.  Things of this world are temporary.  However, living in Christ and letting His Spirit fill you is really living.
Enjoy the flowers but know they only last a short time.   Enjoy each day on earth but know that in comparison to eternal life, we are only passing through.
