Don't forget to Rejoice

So by now most of us are getting a little cabin fever.  Attitudes can wane and we can feel as if the house is shrinking.   Bad news seems to be everywhere.   What should we do?  Rejoice of course!  Philipians 4:4-7 says:
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is [a]near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all [b]comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Does this mean to rejoice about the virus or to rejoice that we can't find toilet paper?  No, however, it does mean to rejoice IN the Lord.  We can still rejoice IN the Lord when things are bad because we can trust the Lord.  We can trust His love and heart for us.  Instead of reacting to anxious thoughts,  turn to the Lord in prayer and give thanks.  After giving thanks then pour out your heart to Christ.  Tell him your fears and worries.  After that, TRUST in the Lord and His ability to take care of things and you will have peace.   Focusing on the problem always creates anxiety.  Focusing on Christ always brings peace.
